Sullins' Newest Edgecard Connector Series

San Marcos, CA, March 15, 2004...Sullins Electronics, Corp., a global leader in the design and manufacture of board level interconnect products, expanded its broad offering of edgecard connectors engineered specifically to withstand thermal stress during extended test periods. Rated to withstand 150° C continual heat, and featuring a 0.400" wide insulator to accommodate 0.093" daughtercards, the new series is optimized for employment with multi-layer PC boards used in high temperature burn-in and high reliability applications. These double-row, 0.100" contact centerline connectors are available in right angle and straight lead configurations, as well as in broad ranges of sizes to afford designers flexibility and manufacturing efficiencies. Moreover, they provide the same superior electrical and physical characteristics as the Company's full line of quality high-density edgecards.

The new Sullins edgecard series is well suited for a broad range of high temperature, high reliability, or high cycle application requiring the connection of one printed circuit board (motherboard) to daughtercards measuring 0.093". They are particularly ideal in testing applications where burn-in is the test method used.

Recognized under the Component Program of UL, connectors feature selective gold plating, a current rating of 3A, and contacts ranging from 6/12 to 70/140 (in single increments). Additional features include high-temperature tolerant PPS, standard beryllium copper contacts, and an insulation resistance of 1000 megohms minimum at 125 VDC. Specifications moreover include a low 8-ounce insertion force (0.093" PCB), and low 1-ounce withdrawal force per contact pair. Devices are engineered for conventional reflow soldering, and may be ordered with or without mounting ears. Optional keying and customization are available.

Pricing starts at $1.00 per contact pair in 10-piece quantities. While delivery is 3 weeks ARO, samples are immediately available.
