New Product Includes Eddy Current, Video & Strip Chart

December 20, 2001

UniWest has released a new hybrid instrument, called the US-454 EddyView, that combines dual frequency eddy current, video imaging and a strip chart recorder into a portable, ergonomically designed product

The bright and clear 6.5" flat panel LCD display is easily seen from a distance enabling technicians to view and scan remotely. Toggling images between eddy current, video and strip chart is done by using one knob on the front of the US-454. The menu is user friendly allowing qualified technicians to unpack and proceed to work.

Probe and scanner inputs are located on the front panel for easy connections. Four function buttons, plus display on/off, erase, null enter and cancel buttons are touch sensitive.

Memory cards are easily inserted into the bottom of the US-454 for test storage. All three images; video capture, eddy current impedance plane, and X-Y strip chart recording, can be displayed and stored on the memory card for reports of defect areas.

Existing borescopes and camera systems can be plugged into the US-454 and displayed in RGB and NTSC video capture. Accessories include a dual lithium battery charger, AC adapter, JF-15 high-speed scanner, soft- sided backpack, hard case, VisionProbe, standard probes and special application probes.

Applications include flight line, airframe, jet engine, condenser tubing, and general eddy current NDT work.
