Eaton Corporation Joins IBM for Data Center Energy Efficiency Initiative in New York City on May 10, 2007

PITTSBURGH, May 10 // - Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced its participation in IBM's Data Center Energy Efficiency Initiative panel discussion at the Helen Mills Theater in New York City on May 10, 2007. Ed Komoski, Eaton vice president, Power Quality Systems Division, will be on the panel discussing the ecosystem view of energy efficiency.
Komoski will field questions on how achieving data center energy efficiency requires an ecosystem to provide end-to-end solutions. Additionally, he will provide specifics about Eaton technologies and developments to dramatically improve energy efficiency.

Today we are excited to show how we've conjoined the cost-savings and sustainability of energy efficiency with the critical demand for power quality," Komoski said.
The IBM conference will showcase two Eaton products that have been proven to significantly reduce user energy costs while still achieving Eaton's critically high standards for power quality.
The Powerware BladeUPS, a three-phase uninterruptible power system (UPS), introduced in November 2006, is designed and optimized for today's high- powered blade servers and high-density computing environments. The Powerware BladeUPS delivers industry-leading energy efficiency, scalability and flexibility to address the challenges of designing and managing high-density data centers.
The Powerware 9395 275-550 kVA, introduced in April 2007, is a three- phase, double-conversion, online UPS that delivers the highest reliability and availability for large systems by integrating the capabilities of a redundant multi-module UPS system into an integrated, pre-wired solution. The Powerware 9395 boasts industry-leading power efficiency at all load levels, and unlike other commercially available technologies, the UPS operates at 95 percent efficiency from full power loads to 50 percent loads.
The Powerware 9395 also offers the smallest footprint and lowest weight of any UPS in its class, making the UPS ideal for addressing current and future power protection requirements of data centers, manufacturing operations, medical facilities and other large system applications. Later this year, Eaton will offer the Powerware 9395 in expanded power capacities up to 1MVA and beyond.
