Dye Laser offers narrow linewidth and high spectral purity.

Press Release Summary:

With tuning range of 320-860 nm, ScanMatePro(TM) pulsed dye laser features plug-in, bandwidth-reduction optics that allow continuous scanning at linewidth of less than 0.08 cm-1 across tuning range of any dye. Unit is also available with etalon scanning, enabling hands-free wavelength scanning at 0.03 cm-1. Output is characterized by high spectral purity, with total amplified spontaneous emission of less than 0.5% of total output intensity.

New Dye Laser Combines Narrow Linewidth and High Spectral Purity

3/7/05 - The new ScanMatePro(TM) pulsed dye laser from Lambda Physik delivers narrow linewidth and high spectral purity across its tuning range (320-860 nm), together with the widest selection of available options. In particular, simple plug-in, bandwidth-reduction optics allow continuous scanning at a linewidth of <0.08 cm-1 across the entire tuning range of any dye. ScanMatePro is also available with improved automated etalon scanning, enabling hands-free wavelength scanning at 0.03 cm-1, which is the narrowest linewidth of any commercial pulsed dye laser. Furthermore, the output of this updated dye laser is characterized by very high spectral purity, with total ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) <0.5% of total output intensity. Inclusion of an optional internal optogalvanic (OG) unit can provide absolute wavelength accuracy of 5 pm or better.

ScanMatePro is also the only pulsed laser that can be optimally configured for pumping by either a Nd:YAG laser or excimer laser. ScanMatePro is also available with a choice of internal Nd:YAG pump lasers; this yields a complete, self-contained system with the smallest possible overall footprint.

The SCANMatePro is well-suited to a wide range of applications in pure and applied spectroscopy. These include pump-probe photochemistry, cavity ring-down spectroscopy, plasma physics, LIDAR, atmospheric chemistry, and combustion monitoring methods such as PLIF (planar laser-induced fluorescence). On-board software enables the ScanMatePro to be used as a standalone laser in these applications or can be fully integrated through computer interface options, including LabVIEW* drivers. This software also supports spectral data acquisition, fitting, and OG calibration.

Lambda Physik is a worldwide technology leader for pulsed UV and tunable laser sources for lithography, industrial, scientific and medical applications.
