Hong Kong-based post house Digit Digit has given its workflow a new design by implementing the DVS storage solutions SpycerBox and Spycer®. The DVS products provide ideal networking possibilities and ensure utmost storage performance.
Hanover. Digit Digit, renowned in the Asian market for their creative advertisement post production, has updated their storage infrastructure with four SpycerBoxes from DVS. Together, all four SpycerBoxes provide 192 TB of central storage, combined they equip Digit Digit with new capacity for a centralized workflow their editing systems require.
Additionally, DVS's content management software Spycer® was included in the setup. It allows for an easy and fast data management, e.g. by initiating schedule push from several workstations from all over the facility. The implemented stand-alone defragmentation tool Mephisto enables the positioning of image sequences and clips in optimal locations on the storage system in combination with defragmenting. Remote-controlled copying or Proxy generation is possible in the entire SpycerNet. Defragmentation and de-scattering are carried out automatically in the background.
Digit Digit benefits from this new data-centric workflow: the DVS systems accelerate the processes and increase reliability - a key feature in their daily work routine. Moreover, the installation was accomplished with ease and Digit Digit considers the effortless maintenance of the integrated solution a major plus. The sustained performance and stability of DVS's SpycerBox, e.g. regarding real-time performance for third-party applications, was another USP they went for.
SpycerBox is DVS's flexible and versatile storage solution. It improves the original workflow speed and efficiency as an ultra fast and reliable storage system. Used as a NAS solution or a SAN configuration or a combination of both, SpycerBox increases the performance of file-based workflows. Configured as a SAN, as at Digit Digit's facility, SpycerBox unites both image data and metadata storage in a five HU chassis only. Digit Digit now benefits from fast data transfers as well as a perfect overview of the entire content.
Spycer®, the DVS data management software, enables users to browse, search and manage data in the entire network from any connected workstation. Digit Digit decided for several software licenses in their heterogeneous network, thus enabling the graphic artists and operators to access and copy all data at high speed.
