USB True Emulation Breakthrough Powers Professional DVI KVM Switch

AdderView PRO delivers total flexibility to professional media and control environments using True Emulation USB technology and dual link DVI-I

CAMBRIDGE, UK- March 2nd, 2009 - Adder, a leading developer of KVM switches, extenders and KVM over IP solutions, today announced the availability of the AdderView PRO. The AdderView PRO is a professional 8 port KVM switch with audio. The AV8PRO-DVI delivers full dual link DVI-I video, hi-speed USB2.0 and audio switching alongside unique multiplexing features allowing you to select a mixture of the attached DVI, USB or audio inputs at the same time.

The AV PRO is ideal for users across a range of industries that rely upon high video performance and unique peripheral functionality. Such industries include air traffic control, CCTV control rooms, video post production, 3D animation studios and architecture to name a few. Full DVI-I enables users to select graphic sources such as analogue or digital across all 8 connections, and optimized screen setup is automatically assured by the extended profile DDC EDID.

The AV PRO is the first KVM switch to use Adder's USB True Emulation (UTE) technology which enables a wide range of human interface devices to be fully supported. The technology works by simultaneously emulating the character of the connected USB devices to all computers thus avoiding the limitations associated with generic emulations which are on existing KVM devices. The result is that the user can switch instantaneously whilst also supporting all the extended features of modern USB input devices. Alongside this, additional USB devices like printers, scanners or external hard disks can also be connected and used by the switched computer.

"This is an absolutely unique proposition," said Nigel Dickens, Adder Technical Director. "We wanted to create a product to fulfill the needs of real professional users, and so we loaded the product with full dual link DVI video and the new USB True Emulation technology that we have been working on over the last two years." Dickens continued, "Because the AV PRO is a professional grade device we wanted to deliver the most outstanding feature set and so took the opportunity to integrate USB 2.0 device support and high quality audio switching too. The end result is the most flexible KVM we have ever built."

The AdderView PRO is available through local distribution partners around the world. Additional product information can be found at:
