Metal Solar Placards offer maximum durability and ease in code compliance. Originally developed for military and naval applications, a special process seals metallic particles under a clear anodized layer, which results in markings that have been tested and rated to last up to 25 years in outdoor use, even in direct sunlight. Metal Solar Placards are designed to meet the latest National Electrical Code (NEC 2014), with pre-printed warning, caution and variable data messaging that conforms to Article 690, as well as ANSI guidelines. Metal Solar Placards offer a pre-printed marking option that may be more acceptable to some local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), who may have a preference for placardstyle identification.
Metal Solar Placards are offered in pre-printed and variable data placards for displaying installation-specific information like voltage ratings. Variable data placards are offered in both hand-writable and engravable options, to suit installer needs and preferences. Hand-writable placards can be filled in with an industrial paint pen. Engravable placards have a dark area that can be engraved using standard engraving equipment. Optional Paint Shields provide protection against accidental “paint-overs” and graffiti.
