Pin-Selectable Dual Supply Monitors Offer a Variety of Thresholds & Tolerances in 8-Pin ThinSOT & DFN



MILPITAS, CA - March 30, 2004 - Linear Technology introduces the LTC2904/LTC2905 and the LTC2906/LTC2907, space-saving dual supply monitors. The LTC2904/LTC2905 feature nine combinations of input threshold levels, while the LTC2906/LTC2907 provide one input that is adjustable to as low as 0.5V and another with three possible voltage selections. All of the ICs offer selectable supply tolerance of 5%, 7.5% and 10%, allowing for possible margining. The threshold and tolerance levels are chosen by three-state input pins and do not require any external components. This simple three-state selection provides a diverse choice of voltage thresholds and tolerances, eliminating the need to qualify, source and stock different part numbers for different combinations of input supplies.

The tight ±1.5% voltage threshold accuracy and glitch immunity ensure reliable reset operation without false triggering. The LTC2904 and LTC2906 have common RST and RST##CRLF# outputs with 200ms delay. The LTC2905 and LTC2907 provide only a RST# with a delay time that is adjustable using an external capacitor.

The LTC2904/LTC2905 and LTC2906/LTC2907 are offered in 8-pin ThinSOT(TM) and DFN packages. The small size makes them perfectly suited for handheld devices and portable intelligent instruments as well as any dual supply voltage system.
