Wesco's New Economy Gator Grip Drum Grab Offers Auto Grip Lock Capability at Lower Cost
Lansdale, PA, July 2003 - Wesco Industrial Products, Inc. has introduced the new Economy Gator Grip drum grabs to meet market demand for a lower-cost, product featuring the patent-pending Auto Grip Lock. Priced at less than half the cost of the heavy-duty Gator Grip models, the Economy line meets the majority of drum handling needs today.
Two models are of the Economy Gator Grip are available: Single Drum Fork Mount (1,000-lb. capacity) and Dual Drum Fork Mount (2,000-lb. capacity). Wesco's patent-pending Auto Grip Lock is the only design that offers a true positive lock on the drum rim, even over rough terrain.
Traditional drum grab devices rely on drum weight and gravity to maintain a positive lock. With these, a drum may bounce during transportation, causing it to become momentarily weightless. This can cause the grip to open and drop the drum. Wesco's Auto Grip Lock automatically locks the grip jaws closed and maintains a positive lock throughout drum transport. The jaws do not unlock until the drum is placed on the ground.
