New Compact Green Laser with 20-mW Output Dissipates Only 5 W
Carlsbad, CA - Melles Griot has introduced the 85 GCJ-series of ultracompact, diode-pumped, solid-state (DPSS) lasers which produce up to 20 mW of output at 532 nm. These new conduction-cooled lasers, designed specifically for OEM applications, operate in TEM00 mode with an M2 less than 1.2 and a maximum of three percent peak-to-peak noise. "A new two-part format allows the OEM system developer the flexibility of mounting the 7-in3 laser head separately from the controller," says Michael Atchley, senior product manager for DPSS products at the Melles Griot Laser Group. "Because the laser head and power supply each dissipate only 5 W, minimal heat-sinking is required, making these lasers truly compact in actual use." 85 GCJ-series lasers exhibit good long-term power stability over ambient temperature fluctuations of 30°C.
85 GCJ-series lasers are ideal for spectroscopy, laser induced fluorescence, medical diagnostics, alignment, and a wide variety of testing applications.
