Dielectric Polymers, Inc. Introduces Silicone/Acrylic Double Coated Tape

Holyoke, Mass. - June 2002 - Dielectric Polymers, Inc. announces the addition of NT-1020 silicone/acrylic double coated tape to its line of pressure sensitive tapes and films. The unique construction of this tape provides a solution to bonding silicone coated materials such as silicone foam, rubber, gaskets, papers and films to non-silicone coated surfaces. The one mil polyester carrier is coated on one side with crosslinked silicone and acrylic adhesive on the other. The silicone side is protected by a clear film release liner and the acrylic side is protected by a moisture stable kraft liner.

This translucent double coated tape is designed for membrane switch assembly, overlap splicing and other specialized bonding applications. NT-1020 provides high adhesion, solvent and temperature resistance, with intermittent service up to 700° F (371° C) on the silicone side and up to 450° F (232° C) on the acrylic side. The silicone side bonds well to LSE substrates and the acrylic side offers resistance to plasticizer migration.
