Double-coated film designed for possible skin contact in medical device assembly
Stow, Ohio - July 2004 - Many medical products, including transdermal systems and medical devices, rely on pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) that can be used effectively on skin. However in some applications, medical device equipment isn't intended to touch the skin - but does.
MACtac® Technical Products' TM9720 is found in medical devices where skin contact is possible, such as surgical drapes, various diagnostic sensors and dental dams. A double-coated polyester film with a hypoallergenic medical grade adhesive, TM9720 provides medical device designers, component suppliers and manufacturers with a solution to assemble composites based on a wide variety of base materials including plastic film and sheet, thin-gauge foils and metals, and woven and non-woven fabrics and foams.
TM9720's construction consists of:
o MP-597, MACtac's skin-friendly adhesive that has been used in the manufacture of demanding, long-wear medical devices for more than 20 years
o 70# densified, semi-bleached kraft release liner
o 0.5 mil clear polyester film carrier
