Dot Hill Introduces Next-Generation SCSI Product with Twice the Performance at Lower Costs

New System Offers Improved Performance, Pricing and ROI for Customers With SCSI Infrastructures

CARLSBAD, Calif., Nov. 14 -- Dot Hill (NASDAQ:HILL), a market leader in providing flexible storage offerings and responsive service and support to OEMs and systems integrators, from engagement through end of life, today announced the new SANnet® II U320 storage solution. The seventh generation of SCSI, the U320 provides twice the performance of the previous SCSI-160 standard, at the same cost.

One hundred percent backwards compatible with customers' current SCSI infrastructures, the SANnet II U320 provides a significant boost in performance, improved data integrity and application performance, while protecting existing investments in the previous standard. Customers such as Tier-2 server vendors, Intel® white box database access server (DAS) market VARs, telecommunications entities requiring NEBS-certified solutions and government agencies that require Mil-spec solutions will benefit from the new features and functions of the product.

"With this next-generation offering, we continue to provide our OEM customers with exactly what they want -- flexible, high quality and very aggressively priced storage offerings," said Phil Davis, Dot Hill's senior vice president worldwide sales and marketing. "Dot Hill continues to raise the bar in the industry by coming to market with innovative products that impact our customers' bottom line."

The SANnet II U320 supports data rates up to 320 megabytes per second and incorporates a number of new technologies including packetization maximization and quick arbitration select, which significantly reduce overhead and CPU requirements of existing applications. With flow control optimization and read-and-write data streaming, the SANnet II U320 can double the performance/price ratio and allow faster transition between data transfers.

Additionally, it provides global customers with an easy solution to comply with the European Union (EU) environmental directives, including Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) as well as Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), which goes into effect on July 1, 2006. RoHS requires products sold within the EU maintain minimal levels of lead and cadmium in their offerings while WEEE mandates that electronics providers develop recycling programs. Dot Hill's SANnet II U320 product is fully compliant with these directives.

Pricing and Availability

The new SANnet II U320 will be available during the fall of 2005, to help ensure global customers will have ample time to implement the systems and meet the RoHS deadline. Though the new system is significantly improved, its price will remain the same as the previous SCSI-160 standard.
