Dornoch Medical Systems Selects QTERM-G72 for Fluid Collection System

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH - QSI Corporation (a Beijer Electronics Group Company), a designer and manufacturer of human machine interface terminals, announce that their panel-mount QTERM®-G72 terminal was selected by Dornoch Medical Systems, Inc., an industry leader in infectious fluid management solutions. The QTERM-G72 acts as the user interface for equipment that collects and safely disposes of fluids collected during surgical procedures such as heart surgery or arthroscopic joint surgery.

Dornoch's unique technology safely collects and disposes of infectious fluids and then disinfects the reusable cylinders which reduces employee exposure and risks to the environment. The QTERM-G72 allows the surgical staff to safely control the collection and disposal of infectious fluids in operating rooms and medical facilities.

"We chose the QTERM-G72 over other terminals because we needed an extremely reliable terminal with a large, high resolution touch screen display, strong processor and low radio frequency emissions," said Larry Smith, Director of Research and Development for Dornoch Medical Systems. "The QTERM-G72 matches up perfectly with our fluid equipment and offers easy programmability and control."

The QTERM-G72 features a 7" (177 mm), 800 x 480 pixel, LED lighted TFT-LCD display, resistive touch screen, 10/100Base-T Ethernet, Atmel® ARM-9 processor and two serial ports. Qlarity® object-based programming language and design environment is included at no additional charge. The QTERM-G72 is IP66 and NEMA-4X rated.

"QSI was excited to take on the challenge of designing a terminal that met Dornoch's strict medical requirements and specifications," said Bill Woahn, QSI Corporation's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We are pleased that the QTERM-G72 proved to be the perfect solution for Dornoch's innovative fluid management system."
