First released in 1991 as a DOS application, MYRIAD is our core legacy product. It has been completely revamped with all new code and an updated interface, leveraging the graphics engines used in our Brava and ModelPress products.
The older versions of MYRIAD operated much like Adobe 3D products today: 3D features bolted to a 2D interface. Other products that started out as 3D viewers have added 2D format support (like Actify), but retain the 3D-focused interface. MYRIAD 8 is a seamless 3D and 2D viewer with a very clean interface.
This new version includes updated format support including AutoCAD 2007, Pro/E Wildfire 3.0, Inventor 11, support for STEP assemblies and 3D texture support for SolidWorks, Solid Edge and VRML files.
MYRIAD 8 creates our CSF/3DF format with Visual Rights security (3DF coming in Service Release 1 next month). Users can open files in MYRIAD, add comments and dimensions, then create a compressed,encrypted CSF or 3DF file. Visual Rights control the ability to print, markup, measure, copy, view layers and republish as well as to expire the file.
Users can also save 2D CAD, image and document files to PDF, TIFF, DWF and soon Microsoft's new XPS format (in beta). 3D models can be saved to 3D DWF or STL.
MYRIAD 8 is offered in AEC and MCAD SKUs. Cost: $115-$595/seat

ModelPress Retiring
ModelPress, our 3D only viewer is being retired this year. ModelPress Reader will be replaced by MYRIAD 3D Reader (releasing in May). ModelPress Desktop is replaced by comparable MYRIAD Desktop SKUs.
How We Position MYRIAD and Brava
In short, MYRIAD is our 3D/2D Viewer, Brava is our 2D-only Viewer.
MYRIAD and Brava are both multi-format viewers with similar format support and many common features. MYRIAD additionally handles 3D models. Brava adds more document-centric features like redaction (removing sensitive content).

PDF, DWF, TIFF and XPS Publishing
Informative Graphics has added PDF, DWF, TIFF and soon XPS publishing to our viewing products. In our benchmarks, our PDF output produces higher resolution PDFs than Bluebeam with similar or smaller file sizes. We believe MYRIAD 8 is the first 3rD party product to provide direct conversion of both 3D and 2D files to DWF.
Informative Graphics is second to Autodesk in exporting CAD, image and document files to Microsoft XPS. Users can markup, measure and convert XPS files (in beta currently). Brava is first to support PDF, TIFF, DWF and XPS in a single viewer user interface that is tightly integrated to ECM solutions like EMC Documentum, Open Text, Interwoven, Oracle and SharePoint.
Visual Rights Is Catching On
Our manufacturing, petrochemical and other customers need a simple way to share CAD designs that doesn't require a complicated or expensive DRM server. To that end, we introduced Visual Rights in 2005 as the first file-based rights management offering.
PDF is a convenient way to share data and CSF is not intended to compete with it; however, as an open format with many third party readers and editors, it is not secure. CSF/3DF files can not be translated and the OpenGL display list can't be "grabbed."
