Autonomy Cardiff Offers First Intelligent Document Solution for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

Cardiff Intelligent Document Solution Automates Complex Business Processes to Enhance SharePoint Customer Experience

CAMBRIDGE, England and SAN FRANCISCO, June 27/ - Cardiff, a division of Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L) and leading provider of intelligent document solutions, today announced its support of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 for content loading and content-centric processes. SharePoint 2007 users can now take advantage of Cardiff's advanced business process management capabilities to completely automate all form and document related processes, including automatic data extraction and metadata tagging, intelligent document classification and business process management, which feed seamlessly into the SharePoint Server.

The Cardiff Intelligent Document solution is easily integrated with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 to give customers the ability to cohesively tie together paper, electronic and mobile content, making it all accessible within their SharePoint Server 2007 environment. Cardiff offers the only integrated solution available in the market today that can automate both paper and electronic forms and document driven processes. With Cardiff, organizations can automate and accelerate business processes, improve data accuracy and enhance the user experience.

"The usage of SharePoint in the enterprise continues to increase strongly and the front-end processes and documents that drive its demand are becoming increasingly complex. That's where Cardiff shines," said Mark Seamans, CEO of Cardiff. "Cardiff is the only solution that focuses on automating the complexities of these front-end processes that tend to be very people, paper and process centric."

During the recent 2007 Asia Pacific Microsoft SharePoint Conference, Canon Information Systems Research Australia, a partner of Cardiff, was able to demonstrate the power behind the Cardiff Intelligent Document solution combined with SharePoint. Using a Canon Information Capture solution based on Cardiff, Canon applied optical character recognition imaging technology to automatically extract information from Microsoft's session evaluation forms. Canon then piped key information and associated images into SharePoint and powered a live dashboard showing the session ratings.

"This was a very powerful and practical demonstration of the joint Canon, Cardiff, Microsoft and CISRA solutions," said Peter Matthews, Document Solutions Systems Group manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group of Canon Australia Pty Ltd. "We were able to capture, validate and deliver live evaluation form data from paper to SharePoint-powered screens in near real-time."

The Cardiff Intelligent Document suite automates all aspects of both paper-based and Web-based document-centric business processes and leverages Microsoft SharePoint for the storage of in-flight and completed documents. Cardiff delivers significant cost reduction, accelerated processes and an improved customer experience by taking formerly static documents and enabling them to 'process themselves' through the introduction of embedded intelligence.
