Leadis Technology Announces 262K QQVGA Color STN Driver IC

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 2 / - Leadis Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:LDIS), a leading mixed-signal semiconductor developer of color display driver ICs for small panel displays, today announced sample availability of the LDS192, a 262K color STN driver IC with integrated controller supporting 132 (RGB) x 162 and 128 (RGB) x 160 resolutions. The second in a family of color STN LCD drivers built on advanced CSTN process technology, the LDS192 incorporates the same enhanced video display and reduced external component optimizations incorporated on the previously announced LDS191. This device also improves manufacturability for customers by allowing relaxation of pick and place requirements during module assembly. Combining 262K colors with high quality moving images, the LDS192 enhances visual communication by enabling rich, vibrant displays that compare favorably with TFT for today's multimedia mobile handsets.

"The LDS192 incorporating 262K colors and high quality video offers a CSTN alternative to the TFT technology predominantly used in multimedia handsets," said Kevin Plouse, Vice President of Marketing. "With the introduction of the second member of our new CSTN family, Leadis enables this choice in a form factor that eases module assembly for our customers."
