Magtrol's New DI 600 Series High-Temperature Displacement Sensors



FRIBOURG, SWITZERLAND - Magtrol SA has introduced a new line of Displacement Transducers to provide contactless measurement of absolute piston position in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and other OEM applications. Their robust construction, large insensitivity to shocks and very long life (due to no moving parts and therefore no wear of components) make them both cost-effective and very reliable.

The new DI 630 series transducers from Magtrol offer a measuring range of 80 mm to 200 mm; an extended operating temperature from -40 °C to +200 °C (electronic : up to + 80°C); 4 to 20 mA displacement output signal; and temperature output of 7.5 VDC ±60 mV at 20°C. The DI transducer also offers highly admissible pressure resistance for even the most demanding regulation valve applications such as in waste incineration, steam turbine or steel production.

In addition to the DI 630 series, Magtrol has developed the model DI 605 (50 mm) and DI 610 (100 mm). Both of these models are capable of sustaining temperatures up to 125 °C (including electronics) in continuous operation.

Recently the Magtrol DI 605 and DI 610 Displacement Transducers were selected by a leading European manufacturer of high-powered diesel engines for cruise ships. The DI was integrated into a new common rail fuel injection system-a technology that provides precise control of fuel injection pressure and timing. It was important to the manufacturer that the transducers have the ability to withstand a wide temperature range, as these engines power ships that sail in both cold and hot regions. Magtrol's new DI was able to meet all the customer's demands to complete satisfaction.

This new generation of sensors enhances Magtrol's capability to provide high-quality measurement devices for demanding industrial applications-where common displacement sensors are failing.
