Norton Discs and Rolls for the Most Demanding Sanding Applications

-- For Sanding Primed and Painted Composites, Wood Furniture and Nonferrous Metals --

Worcester, Mass., December 22, 2003 -- From aluminum hoods in an auto assembly plant to maple doors in a cabinet shop, Norton SG® A975 discs and rolls have extended life by as much as 2 to 1 over conventional products while generating superior finishes.

Norton SG A975 discs are now available in an expanded offering that includes from stock in 5" and 6" Stick and Sand® disc rolls and Speed-Grip® discs. The Stick-and-Sand and Speed-Grip discs are available with or without vacuum holes. Both discs and rolls are available in 10 grit sizes, ranging from P80 to P400.

The Norton patented SG seeded-gel P-graded grain resists dulling to provide aggressive cut rates and its cool cutting action minimizes loading. The water based stearate No-Fil® coating enhances load resistance and extends disc and roll life.

The specially developed Norton fiber reinforced B-weight latex paper backing provides a 50-60% improvement in tear strength while maintaining a flexibility level similar to film backed products.
