New Single-Input DVR with Multiplexer Interface Announced by Elmo


PLAINVIEW, N.Y., JULY 15, 2002 - The new single input ELMO EDVR Digital Video Recorder is an excellent drop-in replacement for any VCR. It offers a multiplexer interface and is compatible with many popular multiplexers now on the market. The DVR features network viewing via provided software and RS-485 for use with controllers such as the new ELMO ESD-CC 1.

This new DVR is available in two configurations, (1) the EDVR-120 with a 120Gb hard drive and (2) the EDVR without a hard drive. The latter model allows users to install the hard drive of their choice. Competitively priced, it is designed as a drop-in replacement for VCR's at a price that will fit budgets at schools, banks and a wide variety of businesses.

The ELMO EDVR is equipped with a range of comprehensive features, such as playback picture-by-picture as well as fast and slow playback of recorded videos of various speeds, quick-access video recording by time and event, upgradeable system software, expandable hard drive capacities, and much more

Remote live and recorded video viewing is accomplished through an Ethernet connection. Extended recording time is achieved by its 3-hard disk capability (one is a removable hot-swappable) and a refresh rate of up to 60 FPS. It also offers high, standard and basic image compression.

There is a pre-alarm image recording as well as time-lapse and real-time recording. Image quality is selectable in 3 different levels for recording and high resolution of 720 x 480 pixels (NTSC) contribute to excellent image quality. Critical image archiving is achieved through a 1.44MB floppy drive. It has a wide range of recording modes: schedule, manual, alarm, and RS-232 communication port. It's easy to operate with on-screen setup menu, title and system timer. Quick search by time, alarm events and recording list. There is automatic restart after power interruption and almost immediate resumption of recording. It has password protection, disk-full warning and operation status LED's and an operation status log.
