Digital Video Gage inspects small, round parts.

Press Release Summary:

Model J-181a makes repeated measurements as it rotates part through 360° in programmable steps. Gaging takes about 10 seconds for complete rotation in 10° increments (36 steps). System handles parts up to 2 in. long x 1.25 in. dia. Software displays diameters at any point(s) along part's length, distance between features along length, and other dimensions. Accuracy is typically 0.0001 in. Serial port provides for data collection.

New Gage System for Small Round Parts Is Fast, Accurate, Easy to Use

BERGENFIELD, NJ--Small round parts are quickly and accurately measured with the new Model J-181a Digital Video Gage from Resec Systems, Inc., Bergenfield, NJ. The gage makes repeated measurements as it rotates the subject part through 360° in small programmable steps. Gaging takes only a fraction of a second per step, about 10 seconds for a complete rotation in 10° increments (36 steps). Parts up to 2 in. long by 1.25 in. diameter are readily handled; no special care or operator training is required.

Operation is fast and easy. The user merely places the part over a center pin on the gage's turntable (or in a nest, for parts without a center hole). Soft or easily distorted parts are easily gaged, since no clamp or holddown is needed.

The operator then presses a button and the chosen dimensions are displayed on a monitor. With Resec's exclusive software package (included), the monitor displays diameters at any point(s) along the part's length, distance between features along the length, and a variety of other dimensions. It can analyze the data through 360° to give maxima, minima, T.I.R., and other values, including trends over a number of samples. The display of each result includes a pointer which shows how closely the actual dimension approaches the allowable maximum or minimum. Measurement is thereby made highly objective and operator judgment virtually eliminated. Accuracy is typically 0.0001 in., depending on the part. A serial port is provided for data collection.
