Texas Instruments Leading The Next Generation



Today Texas Instruments introduced Single-Chip Mixing and Re-encoding of Dolby Creator and DTS 5.1 in HD DVD and Blu-ray players. The DA7xx DSPs provide dual stream support which enables directors' commentaries, menu sound effects, and secondary stream and interactive feature downloading. The multichannel re-encoders allow a single digital connection to pass audio from next generation DVD players to existing AVRs, bypassing the need for several analog connections and DA/AD conversions.

The Aureus line is the first to support Dolby Digital Compatible Output technology, enabling next-generation HD DVD and Blu-ray players to deliver 640kbps Dolby Digital surround sound. The Aureus DSP line targets AVRs, HD televisions, home media servers, automotive jukeboxes, MP3 player docking stations, and HD-DVD and Blu-ray players.

The DA7xx line is available now and ranges from $13.52 to $21.63 in quantities of 10,000 or more
