Ricoh Corporation Introduces the Aficio MP 3500/MP 4500 Series
Black & White Digital Systems Provide High-Performance Functionality Combined with Versatile Printing Options
WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Jan. 9 /- Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment has launched the Aficio(R) MP 3500/MP 4500 Series. This new black & white digital series which is suitable for any business environment, offers advanced network printing, scanning and faxing in one compact platform, as well as industry-leading security features that protect vital business information at every stage of a document's lifecycle.
Built on the strong features of its predecessor, this new series allows Ricoh to provide more affordable and flexible printing solutions, while still maintaining all the innovation and dependability of the Aficio 3035/3045 Series.
The new MP 3500P/MP 4500P RPCS (Refined Print Command Stream) Network Printing configuration features standard 35/45 pages per minute printing at 600 dpi, a 466 MHz processor, 40 GB Hard Disk Drive and 384 MB RAM. A flexible upgrade path for faxing and PCL/Scanning is available as an option.
The Aficio MP 3500/MP 4500 Series offers an extensive list of features designed to safeguard information at all points of contact. Windows/LDAP Authentication restricts access to the network PC by requiring users to input their existing name and password, and encryption protects data from interception, falsification and tampering during transmission. To prevent unauthorized copying of printed documents, the Copy Prevention Control feature embeds a pattern and text into the document. If the document is copied on the Aficio MP 3500/MP 4500, or another Ricoh device with Copy Prevention Control capabilities, the original text is grayed out.
The DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS) provides an even higher level of information security assurance. DOSS automatically overwrites latent information on the devices' hard drive after each copy, print and scan job. The overwrite methodology conforms to NSA standard for securing information remaining on digital systems hard drives and does not impede any of the Aficio MP 3500/MP 4500's feature set.
Additional features of the Aficio MP 3500/MP 4500 Series include:

DocumentMall ensures document security by encrypting hardcopy documents scanned from the MP 3500SPi/MP 4500SPi Series into the service.
