Lattice Technology Releases XVL Studio Ver. 10.0b

New functionality and updates deliver improved performance and usability for Technical Documentation and Digital Mock-Up

San Francisco, CA, - Lattice Technology® Inc., the standard for technical communication and digital mock up software in the manufacturing industry, today released XVL Studio Ver. 10.1b, an update to the industry-leading software for creating manufacturing, service and maintenance data for use downstream.

XVL Studio is available in Basic, Standard and Pro editions and provides a complete range of functionality for digital mock-up, process planning and the creation of 3D and 2D technical documentation. Using the industry leading XVL format, XVL Studio enables users to work with even the largest and most complex assemblies to create the documentation and data needed for all of their downstream needs.

XVL Studio version 10.1b delivers powerful new functionality for DMU, process design, illustration and usability, including:

User Interface

Custom sub-menus - users can create their own menus and sub-menus allowing them to tailor the XVL Studio user interface to match their requirements and work flow.

Tool-tip display - a new control allows the display of any part property (part name, part number or any user-defined property) while hovering over a part.

Export HTML5 content - save XVL models to HTML5 format allowing them to be viewed in any HTML5 compatible browser - without the need for any plug-ins, including mobile devices.

Digital Mock Up

Interference/Difference Check - Dynamic Interference check performance is improved significantly by taking advantage of multiple CPU environments. Advanced Difference check options allow for greater control of the check depending on purpose. Additionally, both Interference and Difference check results can be saved in an XV0 assembly file.

Design Review - cross-section profiles can now be rotated to the appropriate view direction.

Process Design and Manufacturing Documentation

Process Design and Documentation - XVL Studio now includes sample tool models that can be used in manufacturing processes and work instruction documents. Pinching posture with two fingers is now possible with human models. New Manufacture Tree feature allows you to easily define sub assemblies for use in manufacturing processes.

Animation - automatic process animation is generated in the Path Authoring process. Enhanced animation alerts allow you to include more specific information in the work instructions.

Export - parts used in manufacturing processes can be exported in IGES format, which can be easily imported to CAD systems for tool design needs.

Illustration

Smoother Edged Images - enhanced controls for line extraction allow output of illustrations with higher quality.

The features will also be available in the previously announced XVL Technical Illustration and Technical Collaboration Suites.

The upgraded version of XVL Studio is available immediately. Existing customers under maintenance can download the new version free of charge.
