HBM Upgrades Spider8 in Two
HBM has upgraded its Spider8 universal digital multi-channel measuring system by launching two new versions - the Spider8-01/55 and the Spider8-01/30.
The Spider8 is a universal device that measures force, displacement, pressure and other suitable quantities using strain gages or inductive transducers in a single housing. Depending on its configuration, the Spider8 can measure temperatures using thermocouples or PT 100 or DC voltages and DC currents. Options include up to 16 digital I/Os and a trigger input.
The latest versions complement the existing models of Spider8 with four 4.8 kHz carrier frequency amplifiers and Spider8-30 that includes four 600 kHz carrier frequency amplifiers. Both of the latest Spider8 models are used for tasks such as controlling measuring devices, visualising measured data and taking automatic script-controlled measurement runs.
The Spider8 does not have any switches, potentiometers or jumpers and can be connected to a PC via the printer port or a USB adapter on the USB port. Each channel has a supply for passive transducers, amplifiers, filters and analogue to digital (A/D) converters. All A/D converters work synchronously and supply up to 9,600 values/s at a resolution of 16 bits per channel.
