Digital Load Cells work with portion sizing equipment.

Press Release Summary:

Manufactured of heavy-duty stainless steel, digital load cells have permanently sealed housing. They provide RF and EMI resistance, eliminating weighing inconsistencies due to plant electrical noise. All relevant data is filtered, scaled, and digitized directly into control system at measurements rates of up to 600/sec. Users can size up to 180 portions/min with tolerance of +1 g, and cells feature electronic vibration suppression.

Gainco Introduces Digital Load Cells for Increased Accuracy in Portion Sizing

Gainesville, Ga., March 18, 2004 - Gainco, Inc. introduces digital load cells for use with portion sizing equipment. Designed for durability, these digital load cells deliver ultra accurate, high speed measurements.

Completely designed and built in the USA, Gainco portion sizing equipment contains a variety of productivity-boosting features. Programmable controls allow for batching by count, weight, or multiple product types, and minimize the incidence of overweight packing. A highly durable weigh deck, enhanced speed and accuracy, and the delivery of information that's easier to see and to share are other productivity-enhancing features of the new equipment

Gainco's portion sizing equipment now incorporates the next generation of accuracy and speed. The new digital load cells provide the advantage of RF and EMI resistance eliminating weighing inconsistencies due to plant electrical noise. Higher scan rates and electronic filtering increase both speed and accuracy minimizing product giveaway. All relevant data is filtered, scaled and digitized directly into the control system at measurements rates of up to 600 per second, up to 10 times faster than the traditional analog systems. The rapid weighing response prevents production bottlenecks and improves productivity.

Manufactured of heavy duty stainless steel, the Digital Load Cell's permanently sealed housing is designed specifically for the harsh environment of meat and poultry processing facilities. Electronic vibration suppression eliminates the need for mechanical or viscous damping materials.

Users can size up to 180 portions per minute, with a tolerance of + 1 gram for even the smallest pieces. Interchangeable infeed systems make it easy to adapt to the size and type of product being processed. Gainco's pull-off arm design reduces the likelihood for product to be damaged during product discharge. The incorporation of industry-leading Intralox® plastic conveyor belting provides durability at the weigh deck and improves sanitation.

Gainco portion sizing equipment features a display monitor that allows the viewing of all drops at one time. The larger display screen is also more user-friendly. The system is designed for local or remote PC interface, using the familiar Windows® NT platform. The equipment is comprised of replaceable standard components.

Gainco's portion sizers can be integrated seamlessly with existing production operations. In addition to routing full boxes to a strapping machine, unpacked product can be routed to an automated packing or bagging device.

Gainco, Inc., a subsidiary of Bettcher Industries, is a leading supplier of scale systems for the poultry processing industry.
