Digital Gauging System measures ultra-high precision parts.

Press Release Summary:

With measuring range of 10 mm and 0.01 mm type contact point made of R5 carbide, 542 Series Laser Hologage employs diffracted laser beam interference to perform accurate, repeatable measurements. Ultra-fine diffraction grating is holographically recorded on scale, and resulting resolution of 0.01 µm suits measurement of parts found in semiconductor and related industries. Also, linear ball bearings in guide provide smooth movement and durability.

Mitutoyo 542 Series Laser Hologage Measures Ultra-High Precision Parts

(Aurora, IL) Mitutoyo's new 542 Series Laser Hologage digital gaging system employs diffracted laser beam interference to make highly accurate and repeatable measurements. The Laser Hologage features an ultra-fine diffraction grating holographically recorded on the scale. The resulting ultra-high resolution of 0.01µm approaches the performance of laser interferometers making the 542 Series Hologage suited to measurement of ultra-high precision parts found in the semiconductor and related industries.

High-precision linear ball bearings are used in the guide to provide extremely smooth movement and exceptional durability. The 542 Series Laser Hologage provides excellent measurement stability only minimally affected by unfavorable environmental conditions such as air movement and atmospheric pressure changes. The measuring range is 10mm and the contact point is a 0.01mm type made of R5 carbide. The Mitutoyo 542 Series Laser Hologage comes with a mountable display unit. Accessory stem fixturing is available for top or bottom surface mounting.
