Omron's E3X-MDA Digital Fiber Sensor Combines Two Amplifiers In One Housing

SCHAUMBURG, IL (June 25, 2003)-By combining two amplifiers in one slim housing, Omron's E3X-MDA fiber sensor saves users space, wiring time and cost while offering the ease of use, stability, speed and accuracy needed in today's demanding fiber sensor applications. The unit's built-in AND/OR logic output eliminates the need for a separate PLC or sensor controller, which further leads to cost savings The E3X-MDA comes equipped with a power tuning function that enables it to automatically adjust to the sensing condition.

The E3X-MDA' s function lock mode locks all sensor functions, protecting the integrity of sensor settings without compromising the performance of equipment, and can be applied either manually or through a mobile console. Omron's patented connector system simplifies installation by reducing wiring and using the same connector for slave and master units.

The E3X-MDA is ideal for applications with limited space and where positioning and detection need to be synchronized, such as material handling and packaging sorting operations. It is also ideal for small parts detection and pharmaceutical pill and tablet counting, where accuracy and speed are essential.
