Low Range Differential Pressure Sensors Utilize Compact Design for Airside Applications

Moorpark, CA-Kavlico has just announced the production release of two new next generation MEMS based low range differential pressure sensors for HVAC applications. The P992 and P993 are offered in pressure ranges of 0-1", 0-2", 0-5", and 0-10" H20 as well as ±1", ±2", and ±5" H20. The sensors are suitable for monitoring clean, dry air or compatible dry inert gas pressures.

Typical applications are for use in VAV control systems, filter monitoring, and building pressurization. Operating on a regulated 5 Vdc power supply, the devices provide a linear amplified output of 0.25 to 4.0 Vdc, while operating temperature range is 0 to +60°C.

The compact package of the P993 is intended to be PCB mounted as part of a microprocessor based control system or in a combination damper actuator/control system. The sensor is designed to allow electrical panel or control box mounting on a flat surface. The internal design of the p992 and P993 is identical and utilize a variable-capacitance-on-silicon sensing technology.

The P992 sensor is available with adaptors that make it compatible as a direct replacement for existing Kavlico sensor models P892, P592, and P593 that have been the industry standards for many years.
