Differential Pressure Instruments have piston-type sensors.

Press Release Summary:

Series 1200 and 1300 instruments, switches, and gauge-switch combinations incorporate piston-magnet sensor that responds to changes in pressure. Fabricated from aluminum, 316 stainless steel, or naval brass, instruments are rated for 3,000-10,000 psig line pressures and offer selectable differential pressure ranges from 5-1,000 psid. Switches or gauge-switch combinations are available with multiple reed switches and Nema 4X enclosures.

Differential Pressure Instruments with Piston-Type Sensors are Rugged and Economical Choice for Liquid Applications

MILFORD, CT -- Piston-type differential pressure instruments, switches, and gauge-switch combinations are available from Orange Research for demanding industrial applications in filtration, pumping and heat exchange operations. They are a rugged and economical choice for use with liquids.

Heart of the Series 1200 and 1300 instruments is a piston-magnet sensor (see cutaway photo) that responds to changes in pressure. The sensor is magnetically coupled to a dial pointer shaft that is completely isolated from the pressure chamber. Fabricated from aluminum, 316 stainless steel or naval brass, the instruments are rated for 3,000 to 10,000 psig line pressures and offer selectable differential pressure ranges from 5 to 1,000 psid, depending on the model.

Switches or gauge-switch combinations are available with multiple reed switches and water, oil, and dust-proof Nema-4X Class 1 - Div. 1 and and Class 1 - Div. 2 switch enclosures for harsh environments.
