Goal introduces High Voltage DAC DevKit

Montreal, Monday, May 16, 2005 - Goal Semiconductor today unveiled the HVDAC DevKit (UVK-HVDAC200-4), a plug and play development and evaluation system for the HVDAC200-4 - quad, high voltage, 9-bit, serially configurable voltage/current D/A converter with outputs of up to 200V.

The HVDAC DevKit provides a complete and comprehensive platform for evaluation and prototype development using the HVDAC 200, shortening time to market for applications requiring high voltage control such as electro-static MEMs devices, piezoelectric transducers, high voltage bias generation, test and scientific equipment, etc.

The HVDAC DevKit ships with a Windows®-based demo program that allows users to explore the full functional range of the HVDAC 200 device by connecting the devkit to a PC. The devboard features: A Goal VERSA MIX 8051 microcontroller, an onboard voltage reference, 2 adjustment potentiometers for the HVDAC200-4 reference setting, over-temperature and temperature-sensor-threshold adjustment, terminal block for HVDAC200-4 outputs, high voltage supply input (to be provided by the user), a PLCC-44 socket for the HVDAC200-4 device, a comprehensive set of configuration jumpers and locations for external load resistors.

The onboard Goal VERSA MIX 8051-based MCU is used for communication with the PC-based demo software and to control the HVDAC 200.

The UVK-HVDAC200-4 development kit ships complete with:
· DB-HVDAC 200-4 development board
· HVDAC200-4 sample
· CD-ROM with relevant user guides
· All source code for programs that run on the PC and the VERSA MIX 8051
· Serial cable and power supply

The kit also includes an 8051-based development system (ships with compiler/debugger) that can be used to develop custom programs for high voltage control.

The UVK-HVDAC200-4 is available for US $250.
