Despatch Industries Sells Multiple Pilot Scale Oxidation Oven Systems

Minneapolis, Minn., U.S.A. - Despatch Industries, the world-leading provider of oxidation ovens and process technology to the carbon fiber market, has recently sold two pilot scale carbon fiber oxidation oven systems that include materials handling equipment. Both companies have purchased Despatch's industry-leading equipment and technology to use for Research and Development purposes.

Many of the world's leading carbon fiber manufacturers are currently using, or looking to utilize Despatch's oxidation technology. Whether producing large or small tow, both existing manufacturers and new entrants into the carbon fiber market understand the performance benefits of Despatch's center-to-ends oxidation oven technology. The pilot-scale oxidation oven was developed to support carbon fiber manufacturers' R&D and small-scale production efforts.

Despatch oxidation ovens feature center-to-ends airflow technology which forces air to move parallel to the flow of fibers. Center-to-ends airflow allows the oxidation oven to operate at consistently higher temperatures and creates tight temperature uniformity. Despatch also recently introduced automated, adjustable end louvers to their oxidation ovens. These new louvers can be mechanically opened to allow for easy threading and closed to minimize heat escape, outside air intrusion, and overall energy consumption.

Despatch is the carbon fiber processing technology expert. The most critical step in making carbon fiber is the oxidation process, and Despatch provides the finest oxidation technology available in the world today. Leading carbon fiber manufacturers rely on Despatch for process integration of the large scale production lines required to meet the demands of this rapidly expanding market.
