Despatch Industries Receives Aluminum Annealing and Aging Oven System Order

Minneapolis, Minn., U.S.A. - Despatch Industries, the world's leading thermal processing equipment provider for over one hundred years, announces that the company has received a large order for an aluminum annealing and aging oven system. The customer is a large, independent supplier of commercial airplane assemblies and components. In addition to the oven, the customer is also purchasing a custom process control and data monitoring and recording system. The company will utilize the equipment to heat treat aluminum parts for increased strength and ductility.

"Despatch has a long history of providing critical heat processing equipment to commercial aerospace component suppliers," states Rolf Kragseth, Applications Engineer. "We worked very hard to create a custom oven system that would meet all of the customer's oven and control system requirements and their critical lead time. This order is a great win for Despatch."

The customer had several custom requirements for its aluminum annealing and aging oven. The oven is a unique pass-through design with swing doors, side-mounted heater boxes and a large 12' wide by 14' deep by 12' high chamber. The airflow configuration in the oven is vertical down and the oven's temperature uniformity specification is ±5°C. Despatch is also providing several additional components to the oven system, including a custom process control system, trucks and rails and a jib crane at the front and back of the oven to load and unload parts from the truck.
