Original Press Release:
GAF Decking Systems Launches New Decking Line
Wayne, NJ - GAF Decking Systems, a subsidiary of Building Materials Corporation of America ("BMCA"), announces the launch of DuraLife(TM) Natural Grain Collection, a new decking line made from a proprietary high density polyethelene (HDPE)/rice hull formulation. This new product line will add to GAF's current decking brands, including CorrectDeck CX® Decking and DuraLife RailWays® Railing Collection, and further enhance GAF's position as one of North America's largest building materials companies.
The DuraLife(TM) Natural Grain Collection looks and installs like real wood, but will not splinter, warp, crack, or rot. The deck boards are also reversible with a natural, deep wood grain emboss on one side and a contemporary "combed" emboss on the opposite side. DuraLife(TM) decking offers long-lasting beauty and needs no annual sanding or staining which means less hassles for property owners. DuraLife(TM) boards can be installed using a traditional face fastening method (without the need to pre-drill) or with GAF's proprietary Sabre(TM) Clip hidden fastener system.
Unlike ordinary composite decking, Duralife's special rice hull formulation helps eliminate exposed wood fibers that can typically lead to mold and mildew problems. DuraLife(TM) is also eco-friendly as rice hulls are an abundant and renewable agricultural fiber.
The DuraLife(TM) Natural Grain Collection product is being positioned as a mid-range decking option, to complement GAF's premium CorrectDeck CX® decking brand. When combined with DuraLife(TM) RailWays® Railing Collection, the DuraLife(TM) system provides one of the safest and most durable decking and railing product combinations available in the industry today, with up to an R1 Residential rating*. These products are also backed by GAF's unique ltd. product warranty, which, unlike competitive warranties, includes both product and installation labor coverage against manufacturing defects.

*RailWays railing meets the R1, R2 rating when installed with the RailWays enhanced post mount. Must be installed to code approved structure.
