Miniature Brushless DC Gearmotor
Nidec Copal USA Corp. of Torrance, CA announces a new miniature brushless dc gearmotor, the LB16-120-BB, with an integral speed control for use in a wide range of industrial and office automation machines. An on board current limiting circuit protects the 12 volt brushless dc motor from excessive input currents.
The Nidec Copal LB16-120-BB gearmotor with speed control uses a 120:1 spur geartrain to provide a rated torque of 3.5 ounce-inches at 100 rpm. The brushless dc gearmotor achieves a continuous load range of 0 to 6.9 ounce-inches. A peak torque of
50 ounce-inches at 0.8 amps is available for starting and accelerating conditions.
The miniature LB16-120-BB is 0.63 inches OD by 1.31 inches long. A 0.157 inch shaft OD by 0.79 inches long is provided. The input voltage varies from 3.5 to 13.2 vdc for the variable speed control operation. The unit weighs less that 1 ounce and
