DC/DC Converters offer efficiencies up to 94.5%.

Press Release Summary:

Housed in 2.0 x 0.5 x 0.37 in. DOSA SIP packages, 10 A and 16 A DC/DC Converters have input range of 8.3-14 Vdc and programmable output voltage of 0.75-5.5 Vdc. Non-isolated single point-of-load devices are available with positive or negative on/off polarity and optional sequence/track feature to control start-up time requirement. Operating from -40 to +85°C, units can drive 1,000 µF capacitive loads, making them suited for FPGAs and DSPs with tight output load regulation requirements.

Original Press Release:

OKX T/10 & T/16-D12 Series : Addition of 10A and 16A SIP Models Extends Choice of OKAMI(TM) DOSA-Compliant Point-of-Load DC/DC Converters

Able to drive 1000µF capacitive loads

8.3VDC to 14VDC input voltage range

Programmable output voltage of 0.75VDC to 5.5VDC

High power conversion efficiency up to 94.5%

Murata Power Solutions has launched the second phase of its Okami(TM) range of non-isolated single point-of-load (PoL) DC/DC converters. The introduction of SIP 10A and 16A output current models follows the recent launch of 3A and 5A versions. The new additions provide designers of equipment requiring high efficiency PoL power with an even greater choice of compact and reliable modules.

A range comprising four 10A models and four 16A models is available with either positive or negative on/off polarity and an optional sequence/track feature to control start-up time requirement. The modules can act as a drop-in replacement for other DOSA-compliant parts or be used in space constrained designs that require high density power solutions and where a short time-to-market is required.

Housed in industry-standard DOSA SIP packages measuring 2.0in. (50.8mm) x 0.5in. (12.7mm) x 0.37in. (9.4mm), Okami 10A and 16A DC/DC Converters have a wide 8.3VDC to 14VDC (nominally 12VDC) input voltage range and a programmable output voltage of 0.75VDC to 5.5VDC. Efficiency levels are up to 94.5% and all modules in the range are able to drive 1000µF capacitive loads. This makes them ideal for powering the latest generation of FPGAs and DSPs with tight output load regulation requirements. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.

The new OKAMI DC/DC Converters offer exceptional thermal derating performance with over temperature and over current protection and under voltage lock out are standard features.

The modules are RoHS-compliant and are designed to meet UL/EN/IEC 60950-1 safety approvals and FCC emissions certifications.

For high volume requirements, the OKX-T/10 is priced in the $6.00 range and the OKX-T/16 is under $7.00. Lead-times for both series is 6-8 weeks.
