RASILIENT Systems Adds SAS and Capacity Expansion Technology to its Lineup with New RASTOR 6000

RASTOR 6000 is the Company's Most Flexible, Resilient and Serviceable Platform to Date and is ROHS Compliant

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 13 / -- RASILIENT Systems, Inc., an innovator in modular RAID storage for the OEM market, today announced their new RASTOR 6000 SAS/SATA RAID storage platform, aimed at storage segments looking for low-cost, high performance expandable storage.

The new RASTOR 6000 adds SAS/SATA drive connectivity and SAS capacity expansion to its RASTOR line. These new features make the RASTOR 6000 the perfect platform for high capacity applications like D2D, VTL, IP surveillance, disaster recovery and video archival as well as nearline storage. In addition, the RASTOR 6000 is also targeted for applications demanding affordable, high performance like Exchange, SQL and Oracle deployments.

The RASTOR 6000 storage platform is comprised of a 3U RAID array and up to three 2U, 12 bay SAS expansion JBODs. The SAS Expansion JBODs, which will be available in June, increase the system capacity to a total of fifty-one SAS, SATA or mixed drives. Universal host connectivity is available using RASILIENT's "Adaptive" storage architecture which allows users to configure systems as IPSAN, FC SAN, SAS or NAS arrays. For demanding applications that require the utmost in high availability, the RASTOR 6000 provides active-active controller failover, complete redundancy and hot swap capability for all major components. Moreover, the RASTOR 6000 allows for remote serviceability via its powerful remote management software that dramatically simplifies setup and monitoring of storage volumes. The RASTOR 6000 is ROHS compliant to meet the new European Union directive that will be enforced after July 1, 2006.

The RASTOR 6000 allows customers to create a fully differentiated solution by integrating open system software with programmable APIs that allow the system to be enhanced with OEM or ISV software. Applications such as virtual tape, storage clustering or remote mirroring can be easily ported to run in a fault tolerant configuration directly in the storage system.

"The flexible architecture of our new RASTOR 6000 provides our OEM and ISV customers with a high value, high performance SAS expansion system that can be custom tailored to maximize performance or capacity," said Sean Chang, president and CEO of RASILIENT Systems. "Cost affordability is optimized since the hardware platform utilizes standard high performance server hardware -- which makes storage manufacturing, testing and logistics highly efficient."
