Archive and/or reference data must often be made available for inspection, with no danger of alteration. ShieldWorx makes this easy. A volume can be rendered into a Read-Only state, preventing any modifications to the files and directories while allowing read access by the users whose credentials are authenticated and enforced by the file system, as usual.

With its data protection capability, ShieldWorx can render a hard disk volume to behave as an archive device. New files can be created on the volume at the same time that ShieldWorx prevents any modification to any file on the volume - including the newly created files.
