Kistler Introduces Industry Exclusive Corrsys-Datron Data Logger with Built-in GPS for Longitudinal Vehicle Dynamics Testing

Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA - Kistler has announced the North American launch of the industry exclusive Corrsys-Datron model CDS-GPS, a high-performance data logger with built-in global positioning system (GPS) for longitudinal vehicle dynamics testing applications.

Offering full compatibility with other sensors within Kistler's Corrsys-Datron product range, the model CDS-GPS offers an update rate of 100 Hz with GPS signal output via CANBus. With simple and quick vehicle mounting capabilities, the model CDS-GPS provides high-accuracy measurements of absolute speed, travelled distance, latitudinal and longitudinal position, height, time and date, and system status information, such as the number of satellites, signal quality, and other factors, to a high degree of accuracy. The product's versatility and exceptional performance characteristics make it ideal for use within braking tests, acceleration and deceleration tests, fuel consumption assessments, tire validation, ABS brake testing, irregular brake-force balance monitoring and the optimization and fault diagnostics of other vehicle electronic control systems. In addition, units are programmed with predefined driving maneuvers for longitudinal dynamic measurements.

When coupled with appropriate Kistler sensors and instrumentation, such as wheel force transducers, sideslip angular sensors, rotational speed sensors, accelerometers and pressure transducers, the model CDS-GPS may also be used for extended transversal vehicle dynamics testing.
