Rockwell Automation Expands Predictive Maintenance Suite with Intrinsically Safe Condition-Monitoring Data Collector
Users can easily gather data within industries requiring ATEX Zone 0 Group II using the Entek Enpac Ex
MILWAUKEE, May 12, 2005 - A new intrinsically safe condition-monitoring data collector from Rockwell Automation allows fast and easy data collection from mechanical equipment operating in Class 1 Div. 1 environments while helping manufacturers and industrial users meet ATEX Petrochemical Certification Requirements. The Entek Enpac Ex is specifically designed to meet ATEX Zone 0, a European Union category designation for areas where an explosive atmosphere is continuously present or present for long periods.
Enpac is a family of Windows CE-based, high-performance, two-channel data collectors and signal analyzers. The Enpac data collectors are designed to help ensure safe and efficient condition monitoring of equipment found in many process industries with large rotating equipment, including marine, power generation, water/wastewater, and petrochemical.
"The need for intrinsically safe components has become increasingly critical within the refining and petrochemical processing industry," said Ralph DeLisio, business manager, Integrated Condition Monitoring, Rockwell Automation. "The Enpac Ex effectively meets this demand with a data collector that combines high-performance processing capabilities with a design that meets the intrinsic safety requirements for operation in hazardous locations."
The Enpac Ex data collector utilizes the latest advances in analog and digital electronics, including digital signal processing (DSP) and a powerful Sigma-Delta A/D converter to provide both speed and accuracy in the data collection process.
