Eurotherm Chessell's 5100V Graphic Data Acquisition Recorder Receives ProSoft Technology, Inc. Verilinx Certification



LEESBURG, VA - March, 18, 2003 - Eurotherm Chessell's 5100V Data Acquisition Display and Data Management recorder has been certified by ProSoft Technology, Inc. Verilinx program for successful Modbus TCP/IP Ethernet communications to Allen-Bradley SLC Series PLC using ProSoft Technology, Inc. MVI71-MNET Modbus TCP/IP Ethernet communications module.

Eurotherm Chessell's 5000 Series, the 5100V, 5180V, 5100e and 5000B all with standard Modbus TCP/IP and FTP Ethernet communications, offer unrivalled input accuracy with a 125mS total sample rate for up to 48 channels. At the heart of the design is a leading edge Power PC, 32-bit RISC processor. Data visualization needs to be presented in the most easily interpretable format to the operator. In addition to the standard displays of bar, chart and numeric formats, custom plant mimic displays can be created (except 5100e) for the 5000 Series recorders.

The MVI71-MNET module acts as a gateway between the Modbus TCP/IP Ethernet network and the Allen-Bradley SLC PLC backplane. The data transfer from the Allen-Bradley SLC processor is asynchronous from the actions on the Modbus TCP/IP network. A 5000-word register space in the MVI71-MNET module is used to exchange data between the Allen-Bradley SLC processor and one or more Eurotherm Chessell recorders on the Modbus TCP/IP Ethernet network.
