Dassault to Display Falcon 7X, 2000LX at Istanbul Air Show

SAINT-CLOUD, France – Istanbul Ataturk Airport, September 25-28 Dassault Aviation will present two of its large cabin business jets at the Istanbul Air Show, to be held at Istanbul Ataturk Airport September 25-28.

On display will be the long range Falcon 7X trijet, the first aircraft in business aviation with digital flight controls, and the twin-engined widebody Falcon 2000LX.

The market for high-end executive aircraft in Turkey and neighboring countries in the Balkans and Central Asia has been very dynamic in recent years, a reflection of the region's bustling economic growth.

The number of Falcons operating in Turkey has tripled over the past six years and the fleet now numbers more than 20 units, with a number of additional aircraft on order. The reputation of the Falcon line for unsurpassed flexibility, operating economy and technological excellence has enabled the company to capture 40% of the region's large cabin long range market.

Last May, Dassault named AMAC Aerospace of Istanbul as an Authorized Dassault Service Center to better serve customers and operators in the region.

Demand is being driven by the large number of large corporate firms based in and around Turkey, including well over a dozen firms in the Forbes Global 2000, a listing of the world's largest publicly traded companies.

Typical of these large corporations is Koc Holding, which flies three Falcons including the 2,000th Falcon, a Falcon 2000LX that was delivered in 2009. Half of the regional fleet is composed of Falcon 2000's, including the new Falcon 2000S, an entry-level derivative with exceptional short-field performance characteristics. The first Falcon 2000S off the assembly line was handed over to a Turkish firm in 2013.

A Turkish company was also among the very first to order Dassault's new Falcon 5X very large body twinjet, unveiled last October.

The region is expected to be a strong market for the new Falcon 8X ultra long range trijet too. A stretched version of the popular 7X that will be available in over 30 different cabin configurations, the 8X, introduced last May, will whisk passengers non-stop from Ankara to Atlanta with the same outstanding flexibility and fuel economy as the 7X.
