Milwaukee Introduces New 14-Inch Hand-Held Cut Off Machine

18 amp, 4.8 max H.P. motor provides power for metal and concrete cutting applications Brookfield, WI (December 2002) - Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation introduces the new 6185-20 14-inch Hand-Held Cut-Off Machine with an 18 amp, 4.8 max H.P. Milwaukee-built motor for metal and concrete cutting applications. This is the most powerful and durable hand-held cut-off machine available on the market today. The new Cut-Off Machine is user friendly. The downward cutting rotation pulls the tool through the work and has less chance of jamming and kickback. The downward cutting also keeps the operators line of sight clear from dust, debris and sparks. It is ideally suited for indoor applications because it does not generate exhaust like a gas powered machine. And, the 6185-20 is quieter and weighs less making it easier to maneuver. Easy blade changes are standard on the 6185-20 and require the use of only one tool, a 5/16-inch Allen wrench. A spindle lock eliminates the need for multiple wrenches when changing wheels. The guard and shoe do not need to be removed with installing or removing an abrasive wheel or diamond blades. A heavy-duty wide shoe provides greater stability when cutting. Easy shoe adjustment is made possible by robust wing nuts that can withstand the wear and tear of concrete work. They also can be loosened or tightened with a gloved hand. The new Cut-Off Machine offers improved ergonomics with an angled main grip for improved comfort. The non-slip wrap-around handle provides added comfort. A two-finger trigger requires minimum pressure to engage and hold. External brush covers with brush cut-out device protects the armature from damage as brushed wear down. The 14-inch Hand-Held Cut-Off Machine is backed by Milwaukee's limited warranty and Service Plus Program, providing one year of free maintenance when shipped to a Milwaukee Branch Office/Service Center.
