System reduces labor costs and production downtime
Malvern, PA - SEMI-GAS® Systems, a division of Applied Energy Systems, Inc. and a manufacturer of industry-leading ultra-high purity gas source and distribution systems, now offers a custom gas blender that streamlines semiconductor manufacturing processes. Blixer(TM), SEMI-GAS® Systems' Xturion(TM) gas blender, provides a continuous flow of precisely blended gases while eliminating the labor costs and production downtime required to monitor and exchange gas cylinders.
Each custom Blixer(TM) is designed to mix two or more gas components into uniform, controlled mixtures. It is engineered to meet application-specific requirements for flow, pressure, mixture percentage and blending accuracy in semiconductor, solar, research and development, and other high purity markets. The system's operator can adjust gas mixture percentages during use with an onboard touch screen interface, offering the flexibility of fine tuning mixtures that cannot be accomplished with pre-mixed cylinders. It also supports fluctuating usage and variable flow rates from numerous points, each with independent duty cycles.
As ultra-high purity manufacturers use an increased volume of gas mixtures, Blixer(TM) provides a 30% - 40% cost-savings by blending pure gases on site, eliminating the need to purchase costly premixed gas cylinders.
Blixer(TM) features mass flow controllers to ensure an accurate mixture, optional gas analyzer to confirm mixture percentages as well as a control loop to further improve blending accuracy. The system has completely automated blending routines and monitors itself for performance and safety conditions. Warning notifications are sent automatically to the operator or the system shuts down if an alarm is triggered.
The enclosure is constructed of welded 11 gage steel and is 86 inches tall, 40 inches wide and 23 inches deep with a self-closing, self-latching door and window. The window features 1/4 inch thick safety glass. The blender includes a UL approved fire sprinkler, polycarbonate face shield, and the entire system sits on a durable, corrosion-proof, non-skid floor mat.
