Curtiss-Wright and Sigma Resources and Technologies Announce Partnership to Integrate Physical Layer Switches and Test Automation Appliances

The companies have integrated Sigma's SigmationTF and Curtiss-Wright's GLX family of Physical Layer switches

Leesburg, VA - November 27, 2007 --- Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing (CWCEC), a leading manufacturer of Physical Layer Switching solutions, and Sigma Technologies & Resources, a leading supplier of testing technologies for networking, security and wireless, today announced that they have partnered to offer integrated physical layer switch and test automation software solutions for enterprise network lab automation applications. Sigma announced that it has developed software libraries to integrate its SigmationTF test automation software with Curtiss-Wright's GLX family of switches, including the GLX4000 series of non-blocking, multi-protocol physical layer switches.

Gorky Chin, vice president and general manager of CWCEC's Data Communications group stated. "Sigma and Curtiss-Wright have worked together to seamlessly integrate SigmationTF and the GLX4000 switches. Together, they combine advanced lab management software and the industry's highest port density physical layer switch, to provide the network test engineer with unmatched reliability and signal integrity. Lab Manager and GLX4000 deliver faster, lower cost, repeatable tests enabling customers to get their networking solutions to market faster."

Jia-Ru Li, vice president of technology of Sigma stated, "One of the capabilities built into our recently re-architected SigmationTF 2.0 is a very tight integration with Curtiss-Wright's GLX4000, providing our customers with powerful new features for transparently provisioning and controlling the switching infrastructure while granting easy access to the GLX4000's best-in-class features."

Sigma's SigmationTF software is a comprehensive test automation framework designed for testing TCP/IP based network products. It provides automated regression test methodologies to free test engineers from doing costly, time consuming, and error prone manual testing. SigmationTF automates the large number of repetitive tests typically required during the test phase of the product life cycle, and later, the regression tests needed as software versions evolve.

Curtiss-Wright's GLX4000 series is their 4th-generation non-blocking, multi-protocol physical layer switches. The GLX4000 series is a non-blocking, multi-protocol physical layer switch that allows any input to connect to any output. The GLX4000 can support up to 288 ports and up to 2.5 Tb/s in switching capacity. The company offers SFP- and XFP-based interface cards for flexibility and support of a wide range of serial digital protocols including 1/2/4 Fibre Channel, 10G Ethernet, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, SONET, and Firewire.
