TI Introduces High-Side Current Sense Monitor with Industry's Widest Common-Mode Input Range



DALLAS (April 7, 2005) - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) today announced a family of voltage-output, high-side current sense monitors from the company's Burr-Brown product line. Featuring wide common-mode input range of -16V to +80V, the INA19x provides a high-accuracy solution for current measurement applications in automotive, motor control, power management, and battery charging. Additional applications for the INA19x include telecommunications, notebook computers, welding equipment, and test and measurement. (See www.ti.com/sc05086.)

The INA19x solves the very common and often challenging problem of measuring high-side current, especially when common-mode dynamics include (or go more negative than) ground. Common-mode voltage range for the INA19x is independent of the supply voltage. Single supply voltage range is from +2.7V to +18V. The device features high accuracy (3% maximum error over temperature), wide bandwidth (400kHz), low quiescent current (700uA maximum per channel) and specification over a -40C to +125C temperature range. In addition, three output voltage transfer functions (20V/V, 50V/V and 100V/V) are offered in this product family.
