AAEON's new compact-size board PCM-6892 targets home automation, POS, Networking, and Kiosk/POI markets. To fulfill the critical demand of those markets, the PCM-6892 features a PCMCIA expansion interface, large size display support ability, low-profile design, dual LAN; and yet it still remains a cost-effective solution.
The onboard VIA Ezra/Eden EBGA mobile CPU is built with 0.13 and 0.15-micron manufacturing processes enabling cool processing by minimizing power consumption and heat generation. Built-in Level 1 and Level 2 caches accelerate computing performance. With the embedded 3DNow! and MMX technology, this CPU is capable of high-end multimedia applications. The Eden CPU featuring the World's smallest x86 processor die is an ideal choice for this fanless CPU board solution.
The PCM-6892 comes with a VIA 8606 Twister T North Bridge integrated AGP 4X 2D/3D graphics accelerator. With a 36-bit dual channel LVDS interface and TTL signals, you can utilize this board to display CRT and up to 36-bit TFT LCD panels. Plus, the integrated AC97 2.0/SoundBlaster legacy audio provides better sound presentation for multimedia applications. Dual 10/100Base-Tx Ethernet controllers provide superior networking access ability for high speed networking applications such as gateway, VPN, or a Mini server.
The CompactFlash socket offers large memory storage for data storage of all types. The onboard PCMCIA interface on the solder side can be widely used for IEEE-1394, Modem, Wireless LAN, Storage, Sound Card and SCSI devices, etc. In addition, the PCM-6892 also includes four high-speed serial ports (three RS-232, one RS-232/422/485), one multimode (ECP/EPP/SPP) parallel port, four USB ports, support for 2 floppy drives, an Ultra DMA/100 Enhanced IDE controller supporting two devices with data transfer rate up to 100MB/sec., and a keyboard/PS/2 mouse interface.
