AAEON's E-Series products and services now include the SOM (System-On-Module) series. SOMs are component-like system boards with complete PC functionality that plug into application-specific baseboards through high-density, low profile, surface-mount connectors. The surface-mount connectors carry the bus signals to and from the CPU modules and the baseboards (also known as carrier boards). SOMs are interchangeable and scalable and help deliver rapid development of semi-custom solutions for embedded applications.
AAEON's E-Series SOMs come in two basic form factors: SOM-144 and SOM-ETX. The SOM-144 line offers extremely compact size and relatively low power consumption; while the SOM-ETX line offers both PCI and ISA bus expandability, greater graphics capability and more PC-like functionality.
