Colder Products Introduces the NSH Non-Spill Coupling Series to Increase the Speed, Safety and Economics of Tubing Connections

The Patented NSH Series Coupling is the World's First Plastic, Non-Spill, Corrosion-Resistant, Pressure-Balanced Quick Disconnect Coupling

St. Paul, MN -- March 28, 2003 - Colder Products Company (CPC), the leading provider of controlled performance connections to industrial, biopharmaceutical, medical, chemical handling and packaging markets, announces the introduction of its NSH Series Non-Spill Coupling to increase the speed, safety and economics of tubing connections. The NSH Coupling Series provides a lightweight, durable and economical replacement for expensive metal non-spill couplings, ball valves, and spill-prone fittings.

The NSH's all-plastic flow path is ideal for high-flow chemical handling and fluid media applications, such as chemical delivery systems, battery filling, waste drain lines, industrial laundry, and fuel cells. Based on Colder Products' award-winning ChemQuik(TM) Series high purity couplings, the NSH is pressure-balanced, enabling fluid lines to be instantly disconnected under pressure, virtually eliminating the opportunity for hazardous spills.

"The NSH extends the value and return on investment of chemical systems," said Andy Hass, Colder Products' Business Unit Manager. "The NSH is invaluable for countless applications because it improves safety, eliminates costly spillage, and reduces downtime costs."

As with all CPC connection solutions, the NSH incorporates an easy-to-use thumb latch to allow for secure, single-handed operation. An audible "click" confirms that a secure connection is made.

The NSH Series' integral termination fittings eliminate the potential leak path associated with typical couplings, as well as the additional cost and assembly hassle of these components. Also available is a unique, field installed panel mount adapter accessory that can be used to turn any coupling body (socket) or insert (plug) into a sealing bulkhead solution without requiring additional inventory.

The new non-spill connection can withstand operating pressures from vacuum to 120 psig (8.3 bar) and temperatures from 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C). Terminations include 3/8" and 1/2" OD compression, 3/8" and 1/2" ID hose barb, 3/8" male NPT thread, 3/8" male BSPT thread, and 3/8" female NPT thread. Mounting options include in-line, pipe thread, and sealing panel mount. With an industry leading capacity of >3.0 Cv, the NSH facilitates high flow and low turbulence in a compact package.

Colder Products' quality system is ISO 9001-certified and its couplings have demonstrated repeatable, leak-free performance.
