ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA - March 2003 - Colder Products Company (CPC) is pleased to announce the most recent addition to its award-winning ChemQuik(TM) CQN product line - CQN06 Series Quick Disconnect Couplings for non-spill, high flow, ultra pure and aggressive chemical applications.
For the first time ever, users can instantly and repeatedly disconnect critical fluid lines with virtually no spillage or air inclusion upon reconnect, even under pressure. Systems can become more compact with fewer components; metallic and particle contaminants are virtually eliminated, downtime is minimized and operator safety is enhanced.
Like the revolutionary ChemQuik(TM) CQN08 Series couplings already being used at leading microelectronic, pharmaceutical, chemical and industrial manufacturers, the CQN06 couplings feature CPC's patented Non-Spill Pressure Balanced Technology. They have a non-spill, metal and spring-free flow path, providing the smoothest flow path possible for maximum capacity in the smallest possible footprint. The durable, intuitive keying and color-coding system prevents accidental chemical line misconnects. ChemQuik(TM) CQN couplings have the highest pressure rating, the lowest spillage and the highest flow capacity in the smallest package of any fluoropolymer coupling available.
While the CQN08 couplings are ideal for bulk chemical transfer applications, the compact size and lower cost of the CQN06 couplings makes them ideal for equipment hook-ups, particle counters, portable chemical carts, filter and pump connections, waste containers, plating equipment, wet bench and process vessel connections or any application where instant, non-spill, keyed and reliable chemical line connects and disconnects would result in faster and safer equipment installations, change-outs and service calls.
CQN couplings are made from ultra-pure virgin PTFE and fluoropolymer materials with a variety of seal options, including Aegis®/Simraz® & Chemraz® perfluoroelastomers and Viton® FKM, making them ideal for all wet process chemicals found in semiconductor, pharmaceutical and laboratory applications. ChemQuik(TM) CQN couplings are manufactured in a controlled environment and double-bagged in Class 100 anti-static clean room bags. Proper material selection and "Critical Clean" molding and assembly result in the widest possible range of chemical compatibility while meeting ultra-pure cleanliness standards.
The CQN low turbulence flow path results in industry leading Cv, ranging from 3.1 (CQN06) to 7.3 (CQN08), yielding a maximum capacity of 16 gpm / 60 lpm (CQN06) to 40 gpm / 150 lpm (CQN08). CQN(TM) couplings are designed to operate within a pressure range of 0 to 80 psig / 5.5 bar and may be disconnected and reconnected at full system pressure. They are compatible with a fluid temperature range of 0°F/-18°C to 150°F / 66°C.
CQN06 couplings are available in both panel mount and in-line configurations, with integral standard Flaretek® flare terminations for 1/4" OD, 3/8" OD, 1/2"OD and 3/4" OD PFA, FEP, PE tubing sizes and 1/2" female NPT. ANSI flanges, 2" buttress and other custom terminations are available.
As with all CPC couplings, the CQN06 couplings feature a push-button thumb latch to facilitate easy one-handed operation and an audible "click" to confirm a secure, leak-free connection. A robust, simple keying and color-coding system is optional with 70+ keys to identify chemical lines and prevent accidental misconnections.
